Cataclysm Elemental Shaman Leveling Build Guide 4.0.6

Elemental tree is the recommended talent spec tree for leveling a Shaman in WoW Cataclysm.  This leveling build guide will take you to 85 and is updated for patch 4.0.6.

After level 80 the talents are really up to you.  I put some points into the enhancement tree but it really is up to you once you have hit your max talent in the Elemental tree.  You really cant go wrong.

These are the best talent points for leveling an elemental shaman to go along with the best leveling route guide: Zygor’s Leveling Guide.

Any intellect item will go along well with your Elemental shaman.  In Cataclysm, mastery is obtained on gear instead of talents.  Reforging is the way to get your master stats.  There are reforgeries in any major city.  You will want to reforge your stats to Mastery.

The glyphs are only recommendations.  I have left some open spots because its pretty open as far as what you want to use

The following is the Cataclysm Elemental Shaman Leveling Build Guide.  These are the best talents for leveling to go along with a good leveling path such as Zygor’s Leveling Guide.

The guide below takes you to 80.  A link to the talent tree of this guide and skills up to 85 can be found here.

Do You Want To Level Faster Like The Pros?

If you are having trouble leveling or need to level faster in WoW Cataclysm I highly suggest you check out Zygor’s Leveling Guide. It has the perfect leveling path that gets you to 85 faster and easier than any other way. No matter what level you are, you load the guide and it points with an arrow to the direction of each monster, quest giver, trainer etc. Its pretty crazy. It also has an in game box that tells you exactly what to do, like kill 5 boars, run west 10 miles, etc. If you dont have this in game add on guide, honestly, you are missing out. You can find out more here or check out the Zygor Cataclysm Leveling Guide Review.

Why do you want a elemental shamman to have healing glyphs?

  • Kelandri

Nevermind I just saw the disclaimer :D

  • Wes

Hey thanks very much I’ve been reading through the site and I’m very very impressed I have a 41 shaman I gave up on and reading this makes me want to go on and start leveling him right now. Thanks again and keep up the good work. :)

If one is willing to pay 40 dollars for a leveling guide, then WoW isn no longer a game for you, but an obsession. Also silly that people are willing to spend their own real money to buy play money in WoW. Why on earth would one need a leveling guide? its not rocket science. you do what the quest tells you and then deliver it where the big question mark is on your map. if you need Arrows pointing your way and step by step directions to where the next mob is and which buttons to press to kill it, then you must be an imbecile. no one can possibly be that helpless and stupid? and if you are, you should really quit wow and go back to school. besides, with this guide telling you what to do and where to go it`s basically no longer you whom are playing, or making decisions, but this addon is pretty much doing it for you. also see people with action bars which flash over which ability they ought to use next… now, where is the fun in that?. WoW, is truly a broken game now.

Well, nevermind, good luck stealing the money of these morons. peace out!

“wow is a broken game now” says the guy on a world of warcraft guide site. If you are so for doing things by yourself then why are you on the internet looking up wow guides instead of playing wow? This is not the point though.

When leveling to level 85 it may start out as fun to do the quests by yourself.. But believe me, and I wont get much argument here.. It gets BORING. Especially if you are leveling up a different class and have done the quests before. Buying wow suggests you are going to invest literally DAYS of your life on the game. If people want to get to end game quicker, why not let them?? The game plus expansions probably costs close to 70 bucks to buy plus people pay 15 a month. Some people dont want to spend months leveling. 40 bucks to cut down leveling by days playing time is extremely worth it especially when you are paying money and would maybe like to be doing something else than leveling for countless hours.

A lot of people also give up when they become bored of the same old. With the leveling guide you know you are heading forward. No confusion. No wondering if you are being efficient by picking up all the quests for one area etc.

If people want to pay for a how to get better guide by all means let them. If they are fine by themselves leveling slower let them do that too. Who are you to tell people where to spend their money. Paying for gold is cheating and is a different subject. Paying for a guide on how to do something faster is completely fine. Losing weight is also easy… Eat less calories than you burn. Some people can do that and some people need a weight loss guide to do it. Should they not be looking for a guide to lose weight? There are millions of guides out there regarding every topic in this world. This is another self help guide that will make people level faster… The end.

Thanks for your interest and comments.

Not a bad guide. Before my shammy burned through mana like nothing, and his dps sucked, now its all good, thanks!

  • Maria

    This really helped me. Thanks

  • Häwk

Well, good Luck Stan. With that attitude, you might as well go back to First-Person Shooter games. Very professional and patient answer by the webmaster, kudos to you!
I myself like to have a guide to get the quests chains that give good gear. Then I just go into dungeon for leveling points and more gear. Simple format. These guides have many uses. Plus there is many quest chains that are not boring, but quite fun. Guides can help you find those quests. I personally like the Howling Fjord and Dragonblight quests in Wrath and try to do most of ‘em.

I come to this site to check out optional builds and rotations. Many ways to do many things, this is a great starting point if you are stuck, running out of mana, getting lowest damage during a 5-man, ect…

Thanks for a very helpful site.

Personally I appreciate the free overview and guides available for WoW players on the net and thanks Stan for this one. I do believe this “game” has become an obsession not due to enthusiasm for adventure as it use to be, rather for the raw and unrestrained desire for one-upmanship competition where virtual rewards are sold for hard currency.
I still play the game for enjoyment and wonder why anyone would continue to do so once they are “bored. When I go on vacation I do not wonder how to power level it. Neither do I go to get a tan in a box rather than the beach just to pretend I was there. Just my sentiment. Your mileage will undoubtedly vary.

  • ElePvP

I found this “guide” to be outdated. (considering this is patch 4.0.6 and now its 4.3.3 so…)
