Cataclysm Level 85 Arms Warrior PvP Build Guide

The arms Warrior in WoW Cataclysm is a deadly PvP choice as far as which tree to choose to PvP with Guide updated for patch 4.0.6.  This level 85 PvP Arms build guide provides information regarding stats, build order, glyphs, spell rotation, gems, hit rating and more.

Stats

Hit Rating- You will need to get 164(5%) hit rating to be capped for Arms PvP. To achieve this you will probably have to get the “Victory” items instead of the “Triumph” items. You can also substitute PvE gear or hit gems to reach the cap if you have to.

Armor Penetration- This is a good read and pretty much sums up what Armor Pen does for warriors: http://www.arenajunkies.com/showthread.php?t=75925

Do You Want To Level Faster Like The Pros?

If you are having trouble leveling or need to level faster in WoW Cataclysm I highly suggest you check out Zygor’s Leveling Guide. It has the perfect leveling path that gets you to 85 faster and easier than any other way. No matter what level you are, you load the guide and it points with an arrow to the direction of each monster, quest giver, trainer etc. Its pretty crazy. It also has an in game box that tells you exactly what to do, like kill 5 boars, run west 10 miles, etc. If you dont have this in game add on guide, honestly, you are missing out. You can find out more here or check out the Zygor Cataclysm Leveling Guide Review.

Really nice guide! But.. i do not understand one thing. Why do you focus on shield and talents in shield mastery? Last time i checked you could not change weapon while in a fight, or have i just missed something?

    • bert

You can change wep in fight but not armor. I put those 3 points elsewhere thogh

    • Stobbas

Since Demoralizing Shout is now without rage cost, I would strongly recommend getting Glyph of Demoralizing Shout, wich gives more area of effect and also increases duration. Spamming Demoralizing Shout to get rogues out of stealth etc. is awesome.

This is completely useless tbh, main title indicates this is for level 85, yet Arp (removed now) and 164 hit for cap is mentioned.
Spec is straight out fucked (no points in fury for 10% MS crit wich is a huge buffer thought other arms talents, wtf). Glyphs are horrible, glyph of cleaving, cmon, PvE much yo?
Macro/Addon section are straight copy/pasted from another warrior guide, wich i saw recently on mmotop.org, without giving a source of who made them (the focus intercept macro with the comment afterwards gives this away).

Clearly just a little boy playing human retri that made this, go l2p. I am a nerd who knows his stuff! I comment on guides and am clearly confused on what the author has posted. Maybe one day when I lose my virginity I wont be so confused on which guide I am commenting on! MY BAD

    • Infragyo

I you could read he did put points into 10% ms. If this is such a bad guide why are Yo commenting on it and why is it the top of my query for,”arms warrior Pvp guide”?

    • Ziminar

Why did you remove the spell rotation?
Can you please add it again?

    • SKELETORIOR

don’t agree with all the points spent. tact mastery and sweeping strikes? come on man. if you play true arms, and not stance dancing, you can certainly trade out some of these builds. try more prot tree than fury. the blood and thunder is a must for bg’s, and gag order is a sure fire talent that helps us warriors against those pesky ranged casters. and why wouldnt you take the toughness bonus? 10% armour increase while stacking second wind and blood craze makes you tough as hell to kill. also, stacking crit instead of mastery seems the way to go. big hits better than several small (crit for 25k in one attack better than 5 2k hits imo)

Horrible.. Any warriors out there, PLEASE DO NOT FOLLOW THIS GUIDE.

I mean c’mon, no point in Piercing Howl? Any Warrior who has done an arena knows how lame hamstring can be when out of range, disarmed, bad ping etc..

Bad glyphs as well.. Cleaving? Really?

Anyone reading this, go to http://WWW.ARENAJUNKIES.COM where more useful info is posted..

spec seems pve/pvp hybrid, missing vital pvp talents… i’m not a great pvp warrior, hence why im on here, but even i can see a few important talents missing…. and in my opinion, Sudden Death 2/2… i just dont see this being gud value? for a 6% proc rate…. gud guide but i disagree with talents, rage free pummel is awesome also, shud really be included in my opinion, although, this is only my opinion :)

    • Nate

These talents are wack if anyone wants real talents from a dude that beat BlizzCon 3v3 team campions Swifty is the man to watch heres a link

    • swifty is good idd but he aint the best

    • Nicolas Benefield

Really wonderful site thank you so much for your time in publishing the posts for all of us to learn about.

    • Johnny

I disagree a bit. I think u should spec into fury for piercing howl. I’ve found piercing howel is invaluable in pvp. Slowing ranged opponents is crucial and piercing howl can be glyphed to increase its range 50% which is very strong. Sweeping strikes is a great ability but in certain bgs and especially arenas aoe is nerfed by good teams that know to spread out when facing an aoe class.

I have played with both builds on my warrior wand found speccing into fury for piercing howel is much mor effective than the speed increase from imp execute. Ive been pvping with warriors since classic wow. The talent tree put forth here is very well thought out. But snaring and stunning opponents while being able to last (ie speccing into prot for the armor increase as well) is more important than dps. Warriors can do a lot of damage but will not out damage a caster. So stunning that caster and rendering there ability to dps or escape is crucial for victory.
