Cataclysm Level 85 Warlock Affliction PvP Build Guide

This is the Affliction Talent Spec Warlock PvP Build Guide updated for Cataclysm 4.0.6.  I have featured spell rotations, glyphs, build order, talents, geams, reforging and stats for a PvP Affliction Warlock.

As with all builds and extra points in other trees, there is no perfect build.  The perfect build is the build that fits YOUR playstyle, so feel free to adjust some talents to your favorite skills. The same goes for glyphs.

Affliction (31 Points)

Doom and Gloom – Rank 2/2
Increases the critical strike chance of your Bane of Agony and Bane of Doom by 8%.

Improved Corruption – Rank 3/3
Increases the damage done by your Corruption by 12%.

Jinx – Rank 2/2
Your Curse of the Elements also affects up to 15 nearby enemy targets within 40 yards of the cursed target.

Also, your Curse of Weakness reduces the target’s energy, rage, focus or runic power generation by 10% while active.

Soul Siphon – Rank 2/2
Increases the amount drained by your Drain Life and Drain Soul spells by an additional 6% for each of your Affliction effects on the target, up to a maximum of 18% additional effect.

Siphon Life – Rank 2/2
When you deal damage with your Corruption spell, you have a 50% chance to be healed for 2% of your total health.

Curse of Exhaustion – Rank 1/1
Reduces the target’s movement speed by 30% for 30 sec. Only one Curse per Warlock can be active on any one target.

Improved Fear – Rank 2/2
Causes your Fear spell to inflict a Nightmare on the target when the fear effect ends. The Nightmare effect reduces the target’s movement speed by 30% for 5 sec.

Eradication – Rank 3/3
When you deal damage with Corruption, you have 6% chance to increase your spell casting speed by 20% for 10 sec.

Improved Howl of Terror – Rank 2/2
Reduces the casting time of your Howl of Terror spell by 2 sec.

Soul Swap – Rank 1/1
You instantly deal 0 damage, and remove your shadow damage-over-time effects from the target.

For 20 sec afterwards, the next target you cast Soul Swap: Exhale on will be afflicted by the shadow damage-over-time effects and suffer 0 damage.

You cannot Soul Swap to the same target.

Shadow Embrace – Rank 3/3
Your Shadow Bolt and Haunt spells apply the Shadow Embrace effect, increasing all shadow periodic damage dealt to the target by you by 5%. Stacks up to 3 times.

Nightfall – Rank 2/2
Gives your Corruption and Drain Life spells a 4% chance to cause you to enter a Shadow Trance state after damaging the opponent. The Shadow Trance state reduces the casting time of your next Shadow Bolt spell by 100%.

Everlasting Affliction – Rank 3/3
Increases the critical effect chance of your Corruption, Seed of Corruption and Unstable Affliction by 15%.

And your Drain Life, Drain Soul, and Haunt spells have a 100% chance to reset the duration of your Corruption spell on the target.

Pandemic – Rank 2/2
Reduces the global cooldown of your Bane and Curse spells by .5 sec.

Your Drain Soul has a 100% chance to refresh the duration of your Unstable Affliction spell when dealing damage on targets below 25% health.

Haunt – Rank 1/1
You send a ghostly soul into the target, dealing ((($SP * 0.429) * 1.25) + 709) Shadow damage and increasing all damage done by your Shadow damage-over-time effects on the target by 20% for 12 sec. When the Haunt spell ends or is dispelled, the soul returns to you, healing you for 100% of the damage it did to the target

Demonology (10 Points)

Demonic Embrace – Rank 3/3
Increases your total Stamina by 10%.

Fel Synergy – Rank 2/2
You have a 100% chance to heal your pet for 15% of the amount of spell damage done by you.

Demonic Rebirth – Rank 2/2
If your summoned demon dies, you gain the Demonic Rebirth effect reducing the cast time of your next summon demon spell by 100%. Lasts for 10 sec. This effect has a 2 min cooldown.

Demonic Aegis – Rank 2/2
Increases the amount of health generated through spells and effects granted by your Demon Armor by an additional 10%, and increases the amount of health returned by your Fel Armor by 100%.

Master Summoner – Rank 1/2
Reduces the casting time of your Imp, Voidwalker, Succubus, Felhunter and Felguard Summoning spells by 0.5 sec and the Mana cost by 50%.

Glyphs

Glyph of Corruption (Prime Glyph)
Your Corruption spell has a 4% chance to cause you to enter a Shadow Trance state after damaging the opponent. The Shadow Trance state reduces the casting time of your next Shadow Bolt spell by 100%.

Glyph of Unstable Affliction (Prime Glyph)
Decreases the casting time of your Unstable Affliction by 0.2 sec.

Glyph of Haunt (Prime Glyph)
The bonus damage granted by your Haunt spell is increased by an additional 3%.

Glyph of Soul Swap (Major Glyph)
Your Soul Swap leaves your damage-over-time spells behind on the target you Soul Swapped from, but gives Soul Swap a 10 sec cooldown.

Glyph of Shadowflame (Major Glyph)
Your Shadowflame also applies a 70% movement speed slow to its victims.

Glyph of Howl of Terror (Major Glyph)
Reduces the cooldown on your Howl of Terror spell by 8 sec.

Glyph of Curse of Exhaustion (Minor Glyph)
Increases the range of your Curse of Exhaustion spell by 5 yards.

Glyph of Drain Soul (Minor Glyph)
Your Drain Soul restores 10% of your total mana after you kill a target that yields experience or honor.

Glyph of Unending Breath (Minor Glyph)
Increases the swim speed of targets affected by your Unending Breath spell by 20%.
